About Kath

Hi, I'm Kath - I am a food stylist, photographer and recipe developer currently living in Sydney.

My lifelong love of baking and food morphed into a blog in 2014, then a few years later turned into a love of food photography and styling, as well as creating new recipes. I love capturing the perfect photo of what I have created, and what started off as me simply recording what I was making has turned into becoming a food photographer and stylist for others too.

I really enjoy capturing other peoples products and food creations and being part of their culinary adventure, helping them capture their hard work and showcase what they offer to their customers or audience. I also create recipes for businesses and other creatives which showcase their products and promote their story.

Photography and Recipe Development Work

Recent client work includes recipe development and photography with The Healthy Baker(Manildra Group) and Grounded Pleasures. I have also worked with Little Big Dairy Co, Adora Handmade Chocolates and Sydney Fresh Poultry.

Client Work Example - The Healthy Baker (Manildra Group) Christmas 2022.

For Christmas 2022 I created a number of recipes for The Healthy Baker, in collaboration with their theme of a ‘retro’ Christmas and their specific recipe requirements. All products used their The Healthy Baker brand flour, and some used their Sunshine Sugar and Auzure Canola Oil. These recipes and images are featured on The Healthy Baker website and Instagram account, as well as recipe cards and booklets that were sent in a Christmas PR/Influencer parcel in late 2022 and one recipe was featured in Issue 12 of Manildra Group’s Cultivator Magazine.

I have created two eBooks which are for sale on my website, ‘Baking with Rose’ (2018) and ‘Cosy Winter Bakes’ (2019). In 2020 I self published a cookbook ‘Everyday Bakes’, which I entirely wrote, developed the recipes for, styled, shot and designed myself. I also designed a tea towel that was sold with the book as well. The physical copies of the book are now sold out, however an eBook version is still available on my website. I am now using the concept of my cookbook on Instagram with my weekly series ‘A Year of Everyday Baking’, where I share a recipe each week that fits the ‘Everyday Bakes’ ethos and idea.

Kulinary Adventures of Kath website/Blog

My blog Kulinary Adventures of Kath has been active since early 2014, using Squarespace as a website host since late 2014.

There are over 200 recipes/blog posts on my website, ranging from cake and biscuit recipes, to cookbook reviews and lists, photography tips and to round ups of food events I have attended.

  • In 2022 my website had 31k visits, 25k unique visitors and 44k page views.

  • 13k of these visits came from Australia, with 7k coming from USA, 3.5k from the UK and 1k from Canada.

  • Traffic sources in 2022 were search (predominately Google) 44.61%, direct 23.1%, social 21.67%, email newsletter 8.05% and referral 2.57%.

  • The recipes ‘Beatrix Inspired Pistachio and Lemon Layer Cake’ and ‘Pistachio Raspberry and Rose Cake’ received the most page views in 2022.


Kulinary Adventures of Kath Newsletter

My weekly newsletter Friday Food Chat with Kath currently has 650 subscribers with an average open rate of 50%, and an average click rate of about 10-12%.

In 2022 this newsletter consisted of 8.05% all traffic sources to kulinaryadventuresofkath.com and the free eBook given to new subscribers had a conversion rate of 52.53%.
